Restoration and Preservation Question

The question of the day is how do we Americans restore and preserve more of our past? Everyday I am saddened by the loss of yet another historic building or property due to lack of knowledge. We as Americans have not been educated to the fact that once we destroy our past nothing can ever replace it. Each historic property has a lesson to be learned from its past. Each time we take a wrecking ball to one of these properties it erases a piece of American history forever. We as a nation do not seem interested in reusing these old structures, instead if it is not new lets throw it away is the mindset. What do you the readers feel could be done to further educate Americans that our past is the key to our future?

How do we restore and perserve more treasures?
